November 2024, Auckland. PlayStation New Zealand put together something wild for a PS5 promo at the Sky Tower: a carnival-style high striker game, where players could smack a target with a big mallet and see their score projected onto the tower itself.
My part—make the Sky Tower out of PlayStation shapes. Tiny triangles, circles, crosses, and squares, all stacked and rotated until the whole tower appeared. It had to be recognised instantly as the Sky Tower. That graphic ended up everywhere: on walls, posters, social media—basically as the backdrop for the whole event.
